JR is a lawyer involved in corporate and technology issues. His work with Internet properties has run him deep enough into the confusing morass of intellectual property, personal property, and jurisdictional issues to convince him that there is a need for serious development in the law to accomodate the constant flow of new types of property and transactions from the Internet.
The Impact Kings project was started as a way of cataloging the clashes arising at the intersection of longstanding property laws and new technology.
The goal of this project is not to lobby or to pontificate, but to point out places where treatment of Internet based commerce under current laws just doesn’t make sense. While posts and responses to news items may take positions, the real desire is to foster discussion and to advance the understanding of what we all need out of a new regime of legal treatment of Internet commerce. To that end, all (useful) comments are welcome.
Our other interests are National League baseball and the as of yet nameless futuristic death sport we have been developing for years. We are not interested in your thoughts on American League “baseball”, but we welcome your thoughts on gameplay, rules, field dimensions, and equipment regulations for the futuristic death sport. Hit us up.
For inquiries, fire up your email, go to the address field and type “jr” then that at sign (i think you gotta hold down shift and F2 at the same time) then type “impactkings.com”. Use the subject field to give us an idea what’s on your mind, then type away in the message field. Then hit send.
